2017 USA Softball JWNT World Championship roster announced
OKLAHOMA CITY – The final roster for the 2017 USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team (JWNT) was announced by USA Softball. The 17-member roster will compete in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Junior Women’s World Championship (JWWC) set to take place July 24-30 in Clearwater, Fla. The official tournament schedule features a total of 99 games, which will be played over the course of seven days before crowning softball’s Junior Women’s World Champions.

The JWNT heads into the WBSC JWWC coming off a fifth-place finish at the World Cup of Softball XII where they faced tough competition, including the top four-ranked countries in the world.
Looking to defend their 2015 title, the Red, White and Blue will open up play against Turkey at 9:00 a.m. ET on Monday, July 24 before facing Guatemala later that day at 6 p.m. ET. The remaining pool play games will be against South Africa, Italy, Philippines, and Chinese Taipei. Countries finishing among the top two in their respective groups will advance into the championship round-robin of two pools, while countries finishing third and fourth in pool play will be placed in a placement pool and play in a double-page system to determine 9th through 16th place. For those teams finishing lower than fourth place in their respective pools, they will compete against each other in a single-elimination format for 17th through 26th place. Fans will see the championship section through the double-page playoff and the placement section continuing through either a double-page or single-elimination format depending on their round robin finish.
Pool A: Chinese Taipei, Guatemala, Italy, Philippines, Turkey, South Africa, USA
Pool B: Australia, Bahamas, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Peru
Pool C: Argentina, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, India, New Zealand, Puerto Rico
Pool D: Canada, China, Great Britain, Ireland, Korea, Mexico
