GLENPOOL, OK — Do you remember earlier this year, when we told you about the baby boom at an Oklahoma firehouse, when seven firefighters got together for a photo shoot with their babies, born months apart? Photographer Avery Dykes, one of the moms, took an adorable set of photos of the babies and their Glenpool Fire Department firefighter fathers, and now she’s back with a 2018 Christmas photo that shows the dads flanking Santa Claus as they hold their babies decked out in holiday-themed onesies.

The original photos became favorites on the internet. In some, the babies — five girls and two boys — were nestled on their fathers’ firefighter coats. In others, the dads held their babies. In another, the babies were seated at their fathers’ feet. In all of them, the love just jumps right out of the photos and into your heart.

The seven firefighters are close friends as well as colleagues. The births of their babies within a span of a few months was pure coincidence, Dykes has said.

The babies have been together several times since the first photo shoot in May, Dykes told Patch.

“Since all of our husbands work on different shifts we all see some babies more than others depending on whose dads work together,” she said in an email.

The babies get along well, and recently were togehter at the fire department’s annual Christmas party.

The babies gained fame in May, with both local and national news stations and social media sites sharing the adorable photographs.

“Things settled down a couple months after the first photo was taken,” Dykes said. “We decided we wanted to get together and capture the babies together one last time this year, so of course we invited Santa along this time.”

Like babies everywhere who balk at sitting with Santa, some of the children ” weren’t too fond of the jolly old guy, but we managed to still get some adorable photos,” she said.
