It appears WWE is looking to find ways to bring Mickie James back to the company while she rehabs her current injury, as she worked commentary this week.

The WWE veteran is currently out of action with a torn ACL which she suffered in June, having undergone surgery in July with an expected 7-9 month layoff to rehabilitate.

This was the first major injury of her wrestling career, but it looks like she won’t be kept away from WWE that long, as this week she was on commentary for WWE Main event.

James called the action with Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin this week, although it is currently unknown if this will be a full-time role or if it was just to test the waters.

Changes are expected to WWE’s commentary team when the draft takes place, with both Raw and SmackDown expected to have new teams, which could also see changes to WWE Main Event as well.

On top of the commentary position, there has also been talk of Mickie James working behind the scenes as a WWE producer according to a report by PWInsider, with the company clearly looking for a way to keep her involved.
