Fresh off of Homecoming this past Saturday, Impact Wrestling officially announced the date of their next special: Emergence, set for Friday, August 20th on Impact Plus.

The show has been referenced the past few weeks on TV, but this is the first time the date and how to watch has been formally announced.

That night will be a competitive one as it will be running against the SummerSlam go-home edition of WWE SmackDown, AEW Rampage from the United Center, Ring of Honor Glory By Honor night one, WWE 205 Live and New Japan Strong. 

The only match set for the show at this point is Kenny Omega defending his World title against the winner of a battle royal set for next Thursday’s show.

This will be the second straight year that Impact has held this event. Last year, it was a two-night affair that stretched over two episodes of Impact’s weekly TV show.
