CM Punk to make first AEW Dynamite appearance on Wednesday
We will be seeing more of CM Punk in AEW starting this Wednesday.
Towards the end of tonight’s show, AEW announced that Punk would be making an appearance on this Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite. Punk made his AEW debut on tonight’s Rampage: The First Dance and made it official that he had signed with AEW and would be wrestling at All Out on September 5, wrestling Darby Allin.
Punk opened Rampage and talked about leaving Ring of Honor in 2005 and knew he was going to a place where it wouldn’t be easy for guys like him. He said “On August 13, 2005, I left professional wrestling. On August 20, 2021, I’m back and I’m back for you.” He then said he would see Allin at All Out.
Punk’s appearance on tonight’s show marked his official return to pro wrestling after a seven-year absence, leaving WWE in 2014 to recover from injuries. Since leaving, he has mainly focused on acting roles, and has also competed in two MMA matches for the UFC.
Dynamite this Wednesday will take place at the UWM Panther Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Already announced is:
Varsity Blonds vs. Lucha Brothers in an AEW Tag Team title eliminator tournament match
