Check out these first images from Long Shot, a comedy starring Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron.

The film, produced by Theron, Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Beth Kono and James Weaver, is directed by Jonathan Levine, known for directing 50/50, a comedy-drama staring Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It’s written by The Interview’s Dan Sterling and The Post’s Liz Hannah.

Long Shot follows Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen), a hard-hitting political writer and Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron), his first crush who is also the current US Secretary of State. After the two reunite, Charlotte hires Fred to liven up her campaign speeches, though Fred’s indiscretions could bring down her campaign. Though not rated, the film aims to redefine “international relations” and will definitely include profanity.

The film also stars O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Den of Thieves, Straight Outta Compton), Andy Serkis (Black Panther, Planet of the Apes), June Diane Raphael (The Disaster Artist, Grace & Frankie), Ravi Patel (Master of None) and Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies, The Legend of Tarzan).

While Rogen is well-known for his comedy roles, including Knocked Up, Superbad, This Is the End and many more, Theron is more known for her dramatic roles. She has, however, had some experience with comedies, including her role as Rita Leeds in the third season of Arrested Development, an episode of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis, and the comedy-drama Tully.

Rogen’s last major film that he produced and starred in, The Disaster Artist, was a critical success. In our review, we called it “Amazing” saying it’s “a hilarious and heart-wrenching ode to outsider art, with a baffling story that would be impossible to believe if it weren’t apparently true.”

Long Shot is set to be released on May 3, 2019.
