A Creepy Glitch in Red Dead Online on Xbox One Leaves the Whole World Empty
Red Dead Online players on Xbox One have been riding around in empty towns for close to a week, due to a glitch in the game.
Reported by Polygon and posted on Reddit and Twitter, players are describing the issues as the typical townsfolk being completely deleted from the areas, horses not spawning when they are called, and all animals being gone from the game.
Others are saying that Red Dead Online’s beta will just kick them out of the game entirely while they are beginning to play, in which, Rockstar sent a troubleshooting link to a player on Twitter who inquired about the issue. Players have responded by saying the troubleshooting does not work.
A Red Dead Redemption 2 player, Terry Binion, told Polygon that no matter how many times he calls for his horse, it does not spawn – unless if he reloads the map enough times or changes modes. Even then, he would ride around the map endlessly and find no animals.
Binion said that even when he drops a lure, which usually fish come swimming to in seconds, nothing happens.
Some players are also reporting that their player disappears once they mount their horse, and others said their horse disappears instead. Reddit user Lord_Chaka uploaded a video to the RDR2 subreddit, which now has over 22,000 upvotes – of him jumping onto an invisible horse and riding around.
In response to another user on Reddit saying they don’t see any animals or NPCs, and that all they want to do is hunt, Lord_Chaka said that you can still actually hunt, but only during story missions.
Rockstar has not made a public statement about the issues yet and players have been taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations. @LastActionJosh tweeted a meme Friday and said, “Just post a message admitting you know there’s a problem with Red Dead online servers for Xbox.”
Twitter user @GenuineJeremy tweeted, “Red Dead Online on Xbox is unplayable right now. No NPCs, no animals. My horse won’t even spawn. Been this way for a while. Missing out on all the extra XP. Pretty disappointing. #RDR2”
According to Polygon, a player shared a support ticket with them, and was told Rockstar had received multiple reports on the problem and is working on resolving the issue before the new update comes next week.

Monster Truck Madness is a solid game that's a lot of fun if you know which modes to play and which not to. The game hasn't been hyped as a racer — and it isn't — but it does feature racing elements, which, quite honestly, aren't so great due to the fact that players are trying to control huge, sluggish monster trucks. However, the battle modes and in particular Summit Rumble, more than make up for any shortcomings the game might have in other departments.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock2-1540185328253.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock2-1540185328253_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:”03″,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Douglass Perry

As with its predecessor, GTA London 1969 is filled to the brim with near genius gameplay, and it breaks all the rules, something that must be done once in a while in the videogame industry, especially when companies now depend on franchises more than ever. This game may appear simple – move from point A to point B – but it's the atmosphere and sheer audacity of the game that makes it such good sh%t.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock3-1540185328254.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock3-1540185328254_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:”04″,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Jay Boor

In a nutshell, this game is GTA with a facelift and it's definitely worth the 20 bucks if you loved the original GTA. But in all fairness, for those who didn't get a huge thrill out of the original version of GTA will probably be disappointed with this add-on and may find the gameplay to be more of the same. Although it has a fresh look and story, as far as play mechanics are concerned, nothing really new has been added and is essentially the same old game — steal cars, shoot up cops, steal more cars, deliver some drugs, steal more cars, beat some dude's ass and steal more cars. Fortunately, that's more than enough to keep me entertained.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock4-1540185328255.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock4-1540185328255_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:”05″,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Matt Casamassina

What do we really have here? A solid 3D platformer that plays good, looks good and dishes out a good selection of levels, characters and weapons to keep gamers happy and interested. With that said, though, EWJ 3D isn't a groundbreaking platformer; it doesn't offer us anything we haven't seen before. It doesn't play any better than, say, Banjo-Kazooie, nor is it any prettier.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock5-1540185328256.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock5-1540185328256_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:”06″,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Dan Adams

When it comes down to it, this game is just a really average attempt at a platform game that should never have been ported to the PC. Everything in this game seems splashed together in an attempt to get back the insanity of the other games, which is really funny considering Jim is trying to get back his sanity, but it just didn't let itself fall into the true depths of Jim's insanity. But at least you get to decapitate some cows. It's great to see console ports on the Game Boy, especially when the games looks as good as Grand Theft Auto. For what its worth, control problems aside this game looks a hell of a lot like the PlayStation game. And that's the problem — as close as it is to the original, a bad game is still going to be a bad game in a smaller package. Only buy this game if you liked the original — otherwise steer clear.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock7-1540185328257.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock7-1540185328257_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:”08″,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Craig Harris

I really want to smack around the person who green-lighted this game for publishing. I would not say this game is playable by any sense of the word — did this game get any playtesting? Surely there must have been a few folk that might have mentioned the sheer impossible nature of the gameplay in Evel Knievel. If the designers gave a little leeway to the collision of your driver's head, the game would probably be tons more fun. But as it stands, a great looking game is not good if you can't play it.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock8-1540185328258.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock8-1540185328258_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:”09″,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Dean Austin

Call me a philistine for not liking what has been bandied as the next great game but I can't in all good conscious recommend Grand Theft Auto 2. Normally when poor graphic and interface choices have been made the overall gameplay wasn't that good anyway. Here we have one of the few times that good gameplay has been badly hampered by control and graphic choices. However, especially for those of you who enjoyed the first, I do recommend it as a rental because if you can get by the control and graphic issues this is a game you may well enjoy. As for it being new a different, well, you're not in for anything exciting.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock9-1540185328260.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock9-1540185328260_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:10,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Tal Blevins

When you boil it down, GTA2 doesn't further the aims of the original game, and it's still as base and sophomoric as ever. As simple and mindless as it is, though, it keeps me coming back for more. There's not much here in terms of graphical improvement, and there's really not all that much variety in gameplay, but damn if it's not a fun little game — just like the original. There's nothing innovative, nothing that creative, and it's not going to win any awards, but I find it addictive, entertaining, and challenging … and isn't that why we all play games in the first place?”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock10-1540185328260.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock10-1540185328260_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:11,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Jeremy Dunham

For the most part, Grand Theft Auto 2 gave a big effort and tried its bloody little heart out at being a premier title. But with the shoddy play mechanics and a sometimes overspent nonlinear approach at completing your tasks, DMA and Take 2 could have done better. Recommended as a rental at best, try before you buy this creative entry into a usually cookie-cutter clean action genre.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock11-1540185328261.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock11-1540185328261_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:12,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Craig Harris

I appreciate the desire to try and move games from the higher platforms to the Game Boy Color, but geez, Grand Theft Auto 2? The first one was bad enough. I will take this time to plead with Rockstar Games — just say No to GTA on GBA. The game isn't that good in design to bother bringing to the handheld — let alone the limitation problems. This is it…no more GTA. Please.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock12-1540185328262.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock12-1540185328262_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:13,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Douglass Perry

While Rockstar didn't want to call this a simulation the fact is, Thrasher is sim. And it's hard like a sim. You will get blisters, you will throw down the controller in frustration, and you will curse the game and its creators far more often than is morally right. But if you pull off the wall ride or a quadruple link, you'll be happy and relieved. And then you'll play some more.”,”height”:0,”width”:0,”url”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock13-1540185328262.jpg”,”styleUrl”:”https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2018/10/22/rock13-1540185328262_{size}.jpg”,”credit”:””,”objectRelationName”:””,”objectRelationUrl”:””,”albumName”:”Every IGN Rockstar Game Review Ever”,”relativePosition”:14,”albumTotalCount”:92},{“caption”:”Reviewed by Matt White

On the whole, Wild Metal is a very fun and rewarding experience. The graphics are sub par and the learning curve is kind of steep, but for those who consider themselves hardcore gamers, it's really a must-play. I commend Rock Star for spending the time to get the gameplay so "tweaked". A game like this one with top-notch presentation and graphics would truly be to die for. There is a lot to do on the Oh Behave! cart and little of it is good. Like it's WTMUL cousin, the computer interface here really gets in the way of enjoyment. When you do find what you're meant to be doing, you'll find it bland and derivative. Welcome to My Underground Lair is shameless abuse of a license. Not only is it a near-direct copy of Oh Behave!, but a near-direct copy of Evel Knievel, a game which got a 2.0 from this very site. Angel Studios is one of the hottest developers in the industry right now, and this highly refined variation of Midtown Madness is a beautiful and fast game, but most importantly, it's an extremely fun game. Midnight Club could have been a good Game Boy Advance game, but this title is chock full of so many obviously annoying elements that it's amazing that the developers slipped them through anyway. Smuggler's Run is a very good game. It has that easy to pick-up-and-play sensibility, and it will keep you playing for a relatively long time in the two-player mode with a friend or two. The physics are great, and the level design pushes you to take damage and take risks to reach your goals.
