OKLAHOMA CITY —  The 2015 Championship Season for the ASA/USA Junior Olympic (JO) Program is coming to a close as over 1,200 teams will head to the ballpark this week on their journey to claiming a 2015 ASA/USA Softball National Championship the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball announced today. 

With over 40 JO National Championships taking place from July 20-August 2, teams earned their right to compete for an ASA/USA National Championship title after competing in National Qualifiers throughout the U.S.

Over 80,000 teams, 1.3 million players and 300,000 coaches participate in ASA/USA youth softball on an annual basis with the culmination of the season occurring the last two weeks of July during the ASA/USA JO National Championships.  In addition to providing top notch competition, venues and facilities, ASA/USA National Championships also feature the best-of-the-best officiating crews.  With the most knowledgeable and professionally trained umpires in the country, all “blues” must also earn their place at their respective National Championships through their work at the local association and national level.  You can learn more about the ASA/USA Umpire Program by clicking here.

The action kicked off last weekend with the ASA/USA 16U and 18U GOLD National Championships, which took place July 20-26 in Oregon.  Thirty-three teams participated in the 16U GOLD National Championship in Salem, Ore. as the Nebraska GOLD claimed the 16U GOLD National title and the Beverly Bandits took home the 18U GOLD crown.  To relive moments from the 16U GOLD click here, and from the 18U GOLD, click here.
