L’Équipe report that Catalan giants Barcelona have made an opening oral offer to PSG for Brazilian forward Neymar, but did not put the proposition in writing and thus formally to the Ligue 1 champions.

The bid was less than €40m + Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic. Whilst this has not been put to Les Parisiens formally, if it is, Sporting Director Leonardo will reject the proposal.

PSG are also fed up with the Catalan club’s lack of concrete offer and are understood to have set an internal deadline of the 31st July for Barcelona to make an acceptable bid, which PSG see as €300m to €350m.

Both Leonardo and Neymar want an acceptable bid to be made, because the opening weeks of their relationship have been so fiery that for them to have a working understanding if he stays is going to be difficult.
