Daniel Bryan Injury Update, AOP Update, Invasion Set for Raw?
Daniel Bryan has reportedly been cleared to return to the ring following an injury scare at WrestleMania 35. It was originally reported earlier in the week that Bryan received clearance to keep wrestling, but on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted that Bryan likely suffered another concussion at WrestleMania. It was noted that this is purely speculation as of now since nobody but top WWE officials were told the details of Bryan’s injury. Since Bryan was originally forced to retire due to concussions, this does seem like the most likely injury for Bryan to have since WWE is rarely so secretive towards other injuries. However, the fact that he has been able to earn clearance to come back this soon is being taken as a positive sign.
It has been quite a while since AOP or Drake Maverick have appeared on Raw. The trio were pushed on Raw late last year and even won the Raw Tag Team Championships, but they’ve been off of the show ever since Akam went down with an injury. However, John Pollock of Post Wrestling now says that both Akam and Rezar are healthy again and should be returning to the ring very soon. It is unclear if Drake Maverick will still be managing the duo when they return as of now. Although the two of them were on Raw when they last competed together, it is possible that they could be returning during SmackDown this Tuesday night in order to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships which were vacated by The Hardy Boyz last week.
Roman Reigns announced on Twitter yesterday that he will be appearing on Raw tomorrow to take care of some unfinished business. WWE later tweeted that Reigns will not be coming to Raw, but Reigns still insists that he will be there. This is the latest development in the ongoing storyline between Reigns and the McMahon family, but it may be leading to an invasion angle between the two brands. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it is possible that WWE could do an angle which will see Reigns invade Raw along with the other SmackDown roster members who will be participating in the Money in the Bank ladder matches this month. Reigns has said that he will be kicking off Raw tomorrow night.
“[WWE’s] idea was to bring Roman Reigns to Raw and other guys, so they cancelled their Monday night SmackDown house show so a lot of the SmackDown guys might, I’m gonna guess – no one’s told me this – but my guess is you’re going to have Roman Reigns and you’re going to have the four women and the four guys in the Money in the Bank match running in and doing an angle.” Meltzer said.
