FFF sexual abuse allegations: David San José
According to investigative journalist Romain Molina’s findings on decades’ worth of hidden sexual abuse cases in the French Football Federation, David San José – who was responsible for organising non-football education at Clairefontaine – continued to work with young players at Olympique de Valence after being fired by the FFF in 2020 over inappropriate behaviour towards a 13-year old.
He is alleged to have sent love messages to a 13-year old player at the centre in 2013 in which he wrote “Je t’aime mon bell” (I love you baby) – which was written in dozens of messages seen by the entire team.
San José, as reported by Molina, was also accused of insisting that boys’ weigh-ins were done done without underwear. He continued to work in football and obtained a Uefa license five years later (signed by FFF president Noel le Graët).
When asked about David San José, general manager of Olympique de Valence told Molina: “How am I supposed to know he was fired for his behaviour at Clairefontaine? The FFF didn’t tell anyone. So how can the clubs know?”
