Last Man Standing MITB qualifying match set for WWE SmackDown

Last Man Standing MITB qualifying match set for WWE SmackDown

A Last Man Standing match on next week’s SmackDown will determine one of the participants for Money in the Bank.

WWE has announced that Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing Money in the Bank qualifying match will take place on SmackDown next Friday. The winner will become the second SmackDown wrestler to qualify for this year’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Zayn defeated Owens in their match at Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. During the match, Owens was still selling the effects of being given two Nigerian Nails by Commander Azeez on last week’s SmackDown. Owens tweeted after Hell in a Cell that he needed “a little break” but would be back soon. Owens didn’t appear on tonight’s SmackDown.

Raw’s Ricochet, John Morrison, and Riddle and SmackDown’s Big E have already qualified for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Raw’s final participant for the match will be decided when AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre face off in a triple threat last chance qualifying match this coming Monday. There will be eight wrestlers in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match in total.

Money in the Bank is taking place at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday, July 18.
