Arrival of rains, ahead of schedule is creating havoc in parts of northern India.

In Jammu and Kashmir, a flood alert was issued on Saturday, for the low lying areas of central Kashmir, even as water started receding in southern part of the valley. Locals were tensed because they were not prepared for such heavy rains. Rise in water levels caused danger to the residential areas and live stock of the citizens during monsoon.

An official of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department told TOI, that people living near the banks of Jhelum river were advised to be more vigilant.
