— With WWE canceling WrestleMania 36 at the Raymond James Stadium and instead moving it to their Performance Center in Orlando, FL, it should come as no surprise that the NXT TakeOver and Hall of Fame shows preceding the PPV are also not going to happen in their originally scheduled forms. WWE’s official statement on the matter is:

“The WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony and NXT TakeOver will not take place as previously scheduled. We will share further details as they become available.”

— These two events are still expected to take place as the statement above is careful to use the words ‘as previously scheduled’ instead of referencing an outright cancelation. The French WWE Raw announcer Pat Laprade shed some insight into what may happen to these shows by speculating that for NXT, WWE may run TakeOver on Wednesday as a “big” TV show while the Hall of Fame speeches will somehow be incorporated into the Raw and Smackdown programs that week.

— All of that makes a lot of sense as an NXT TakeOver show on Wednesday would be going head-to-head against AEW Dynamite, which will air in a closed-set environment and presumably would give WWE an advantage in the ongoing Wednesday Night ratings battle. As for the Hall of Fame speeches being aired on Raw and Smackdown, it is expected those shows will take place from the Performance Center and could definitely use the content to cover the three and two hours, respectively.
