Potential *SPOILER* For Tonight's King Of The Ring Tournament
** WARNING: The following is a potential SPOILER for Tonight’s KING of the RING Tournament:
The Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa has posted a suspicious message on their website today. They are hosting a SmackDown & ECW house show on May 20th and are claiming the new King of the Ring will be appearing at the house show. That strongly implies the winner of tonight’s King of the Ring tournament will be a SmackDown or ECW supertar. Keep in mind – this has been posted by the venue that’s hosting the house show, not WWE.
Here’s the announcement from their website:
As WWE Superstars return from the rich, royal tradition of the United Kingdom to American shores, the stars of Raw, SmackDown and ECW will compete for their own unique crowning glory.
For the first time in two years, a new King of the Ring will be
decided in a one-night tournament that commences in the very first hour of a special three-hour episode of Raw, live from the BI-LO Center in Greenville, S.C.
Eight competitors will have to defeat multiple opponents in a single night to be coronated with the treasured crown and robe that WWE Legends and Hall of Famers such as Harley Race, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Bret “Hitman: Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Edge have worn during their illustrious careers.
Be sure to watch tonight’s historic event at 7:00 pm on USA Network to see who will be appearing at Wells Fargo Arena when Smackdown and ECW invade Des Moines, IA on May 20, 2008.
