Scaramucci Has Anonymous Source Who Told Him Russians "Maybe Didn't" Hack 2016 Election (Okay, He Admits, It Was President Trump)
In addition to other headline-generating statements over the weekend (here and here), President Donald Trump’s new communications director Anthony Scaramucci also on Sunday claimed he had a source—but said “I won’t tell you who”—who communicated to him that maybe it wasn’t Russian government officials who meddled in last year’s U.S. election.
Appearing on CNN‘s “State of the Union” and pressed mildly by Jake Tapper about who this “anonymous source” was, Scaramucci quickly confessed, “How ’bout it was the president, Jake. I talked to him yesterday. He called me from Air Force One and he basically said to me: ‘Hey you know, maybe they did it, maybe they didn’t do it.'”
