Alimuddin’s son Shahjad Ansari, in his early 20s, told The Sunday Express, “We have been running around — to the police station, the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, the office of the Deputy Commissioner and also RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) in Ranchi. My father had some savings in insurance schemes. We need money for our sister’s wedding, but we can claim the insurance money only if we have a death certificate.”
