Ziggler Contract Update, WWE Tryouts in Chile News, Match for SD
Earlier this year, it certainly seemed as if Raw Superstar Dolph Ziggler was on his way out of WWE. Ziggler was later paired with Drew McIntyre on Raw, and they became a successful act on the show. Given Dolph’s runs with the Intercontinental Championship and Raw Tag Team Championships over the past few months, one may think that Ziggler decided to stay on board. However, Mike Johnson has noted on PWInsider’s Elite Audio show that Ziggler has not signed any sort of new contract yet. It is possible that Ziggler may have signed a new short-term deal or is working on a handshake agreement, but those two option have yet to be confirmed as of right now. In the meantime, Ziggler is still competing on Raw every Monday night.
WWE recently went to the nation of Chile for their latest round of Performance Center tryouts. Some of the names involved in the tryouts are ones that may be familiar to some WWE fans. Mae Young Classic competitor Zatara took part in the tryouts, as did Cruiserweight Classic star Alejandro Saez. Wrestlers Ricky Marvin and Ariki Toa made up just some of the over 50 athletes who took part in the tryouts. The tryouts were headed by Matt Bloom, Sarah Stock, and Robbie Brookside, and NXT Superstars Taynara Conti, Raul Mendoza, Adrian Jaoude, and Cezar Bononi were also present alongside the Performance Center coaches. During last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE took the time to announce a few of the plans for the SmackDown show that will be airing later on tonight. Also, Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch will each sign the contract for their TLC match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE’s upcoming TLC pay-per-view. What exactly will go down before the match featuring SmackDown’s best female performers takes place? Fans will be able to find out during SmackDown tonight on the USA Network at 8pm ET.
