AEW DARK Results
December 10, 2019

After a recap of last week’s AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone and Dasha welcome us to tonight’s show with a recap of Jon Moxley’s run of terror in recent weeks. We’ve got three matches on deck, including the DARK return of Kenny Omega, and we’ll hear from the “American Nightmare”, Cody Rhodes. Let’s head to the ring!

Oh my lord… We have Excalibur on commentary with Chuck Taylor. If you close your eyes you can almost smell the beer at the American Legion in Reseda. Orange Cassidy is also there, possibly already asleep, and he doesn’t even have his headset on.

Jimmy Havoc vs. Peter Avalon (w/ Leva Bates) vs. Scorpio Sky

Havoc did a lot of damage early on, including an Angel’s Wings variation on Avalon and an exploder suplex into the bottom turnbuckle. He and Avalon accidentally took out Sky with a high-low combo, and decided to form a very short-term union to take the other man out of the match. This broke down within about two minutes as they went after each other, Sky suplexed them both over the ropes and followed with an awesome tope con hilo.

Havoc caught him coming back into the ring with a DDT. He went under the ring to grab the staple gun, but the others were able to get it away from him. There was a great nearfall as Sky hit the TKO on Havoc, but Avalon threw him out of the ring and tried to steal the win, only for him to kick out. Sky dropped Avalon with the TKO as well and scored the win.

Winner: Scorpio Sky

We get a look at the latest vignette for The Dark Order. We are the final initiation ceremony for some of the recruits we’ve seen in past weeks. A man is put on his knees and is asked why he wants to join The Dark Order, and he says “revenge”. The large man we’ve seen several times is scared out of his mind, and says that he just wanted to make some friends. The Order members jump on him and tear at his skin and beat him down in between flashes of propaganda and bizarre imagery for the faction.

Luchasaurus & Marko Stunt (w/ Jungle Boy) vs. John Silver & Alex Reynolds

Silver starts things out and rushes the enemy corner, but Luchasaurus turns around and roars, and the dude falls flat on his ass. Marko drops him with a leg drop from the top rope across the back of the neck, then dropkicks Reynolds off the apron. The kids in the crowd are chanting for Marko and it’s adorable. Silver nails him with a nasty kick to the chest to shut them up, before he and Reynolds beat the poor kid down in their corner with quick tags. At one point Reynolds was just standing on his hair while they stretched him out.

Luchasaurus eventually gets the hot tag after a few minutes of Marko getting the stuffing beaten out of him. He cleaned house with some huge boots, and a discus lariat, before dropping them both with a double chokeslam. Luchasaurus set up Silver on his shoulders and tagged Marko, who came off the top rope to help deliver an Argentine Neckbreaker/Diving Corkscrew Cutter combo. It’s over.

Winners: Luchasaurus & Marko Stunt

It’s recap time! They show footage from last week’s Nyla Rose segment where she beat up Shanna, and then put a referee through a table. Up next is footage from Brandi Rhodes and Awesome Kong inducting a new member into their creepy society, and taking her hair.

An INCREDIBLE video for Big Swole airs. It’s an interview with her explaining who she is, and the meaning behind her gimmick, before telling the story of how she nearly died and doctors telling her she could never have children and she could never be a wrestler. Then of course she did have a child, and they show pictures of her with Cedric Alexander and their child, before rolling backstage clips of Kenny Omega offering her a contract last week and the crowd going nuts for her match.

Kenny Omega vs. Kip Sabian (w/ Penelope Ford)

Omega took his opponent to the corner and lit him up with some absolutely disgusting knife-edge chops across the chest, one after another, before whipping him across the ring so hard the mounted camera fell over. Sabian caught him with an enzuigiri in the corner, but was quickly dumped over the ropes to the outside. Omega followed and lined up for a V-Trigger, but Penelope flew out of nowhere with a diving headscissors takedown off the apron! Sabian immediately took advantage with a DDT and rolled The Cleaner back into the ring, nailed a dropkick, but it wasn’t enough.

Sabian slowed things down with a headlock, but didn’t stall long before draping Omega over the top rope and hitting a Hangman’s spinning neckbreaker. Chuck Taylor on commentary made a brilliant point that Sabian has the benefit of having seen way more Kenny Omega matches than the other way around, so he’s the most prepared he can be. The two eventually started trading forearm strikes back and forth, before Omega gave him a half dozen uppercuts and a V-Trigger that nearly took his head off. Omega followed with a thudding lariat that turned him upside down, but didn’t make the cover.

Omega hit a Polish hammer, followed by a second, before connecting with the You Cannot Escape combination. He motioned for the One Winged Angel, but Sabian struggled out and bounced off the ropes with a Tornado Swinging DDT for a nearfall. Omega fought back with rights and lefts before hitting a V-Trigger that sent Sabian into the ropes. He went for another, but Sabian grabbed the referee and pulled her in front of him. Penelope Ford got into the ring and dropped him with a stunner, allowing Sabian to hit a Poison Rana. PK connects! 1…2…NO!

Sabian tries to slowly lift his opponent up, but Kenny basically corpsed. Omega caught him with a knee to the back of the head, then hit a snap Dragon Suplex while staring down Ford. She hit the ring and he threatened to give her the Dragon Suplex, Sabian made the save but ate a Tiger Driver for his trouble. V-Trigger connects to the back of the neck. One Winged Angel connects. It’s over.

Winner: Kenny Omega
