As we all know by now, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar was a no-show last Monday night on RAW and he did not appear in the planned face off with #1 Contender Roman Reigns. After the incident, several reports have been surfacing on why Lesnar was not on RAW. According to a new report by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Lesnar was scheduled for the show but he has already went past the number of contractual dates on his current WWE contract and because he is aware that he will be losing the title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, Lesnar is said to be far more interested in negotiating his next WWE contract than being a “team player” on the current deal.
It was previously reported that the face off between Lesnar and Reigns was written in multiple scripts that were done for Monday’s RAW, and WWE was still advertising Lesnar after RAW hit the air. It was also previously reported that the segment was scheduled to take place in the second hour and at one point would have Lesnar calling Reigns a “b—h,”.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com, Lesnar being nixed from the show may have been a creative change made at the last minute. WWE’s current goal for the Reigns vs. Lesnar match build-up is to get Reigns cheered by fans, which is something that isn’t always guaranteed. WWE would also want Lesnar to garner as much positive reaction as he can when he wins the title at WrestleMania 34. WWE Officials would also want the build-up to Reigns vs. Lesnar to come across like a shoot as much as possible, as he did on RAW.

The report also indicates that a Ronda Rousey – Paul Heyman partnership on TV is still a possibility but Heyman working as Ronda’s on-screen advocate depends on her ability to resonate with the fans.
