Police officers across Texas are taking a break from fighting crime to smell the flowers as part of the #backtheBLUEbonnets challenge. Police departments from San Antonio, Grapevine, Mineral Wells, Cedar Hill, and Southlake, among others, have tweeted out photos of their officers laying in Texas’ state flower with clever captions.

The photos have gone over swimmingly in each community, especially Mineral Wells. A photo of two Mineral Wells Police officers eating donuts among a patch of bluebonnets has been shared 74,000 times on Facebook.

“Felt cute might arrest someone later idk,” Mineral Wells PD wrote.

Bluebonnet season in Texas runs through about mid-April, according to travel website rove.me. Check out some of the best #backtheBLUEbonnets challenge photos below.
