LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Coe College’s Alyssa Olson and Salisbury University’s LeAnne Collins captured Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Pitcher and Player of the Week honors.

Olson, a sophomore right-hander for the (13-1) Kohawks, defeated No. 2 St. John Fisher and 11th-ranked Worcester Polytechnic Institute last week, in addition to a victory over Aurora and a save against Thiel. For the week, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native was 3-0 with a 0.40 earned-run average, 13 hits, no walks and 12 strikeouts.

Collins, meanwhile, hit .636 as the Sea Gulls’ junior right fielder and leadoff batter, with two doubles, four triples, a homer and 10 runs batted in. The Sparks, Md., native compiled a 1.227 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage for the week. Exactly half of the Hereford High product’s 14 hits went for extra bases and she hit for the cycle in a 9-2 win over SUNY New Paltz.

Lebanon Valley freshman pitcher Maddie Abbot had three complete games and four wins in five appearances. Two victories were shutouts and she recorded 26 strikeouts and allowed just two runs over 24 innings. … Maryville (Tenn.) sophomore pitcher Nicole Blackburn went 2-0 with two shutouts and a 0.00 ERA over 14 innings of work. … Lebanon Valley senior center fielder Sammy Bost hit .519 (14-for-27) with two doubles, a triple, four walks, six steals, 13 runs and putouts on all nine of the balls hit her way. … Wilkes sophomore left fielder Caitlin Brown was 12-for-23 (.522) with two doubles, a triple, six runs and six RBI. … Moravian junior pitcher Amanda Carisone went 4-0 with three complete games, three earned runs and 12 strikeouts over 26 innings. … Berry senior pitcher Marie Collop excelled on both sides of the field, tossing five shutout innings and collecting five strikeouts in a run-rule victory over Cal Lutheran, while also going 3-for-6 at the plate with a double, four runs and three RBI. … Dominican (Ill.) sophomore catcher Gabby Curran hit .552 with 16 hits, two triples, two homers, 14 runs and eight RBI. She also recorded 35 putouts and three assists and caught two runners stealing with flawless play behind the plate. … Stevens Institute of Technology junior pitcher/utility player Olivia Gemma went 2-0 in the circle and hit .625 (10-for-16), with three doubles, two homers and 12 RBI at the plate. … Rowan sophomore center fielder Gianna Genello had a .545 average in a 6-0 week and has hit in all 10 games for the undefeated Profs. She scored the winning run against Muskingum, scored both runs in a victory over SUNY Plattsburgh and drove in the winning run in a triumph over SUNY Cortland. … Dominican (Ill.) sophomore pitcher Sydney Kuderna won all eight appearances last week, including six starts, and collected 26 strikeouts over 39.1 innings, while compiling a 1.07 ERA. … Averett senior shortstop Jessica Long went 10-for-19 (.526) with a double, two triples, a homer, eight runs, eight RBI and six steals in six attempts. … Wesley senior catcher Nina Marcano hit .462 (12-for-26) with a double, three triples, two homers, seven runs and 11 RBI. … Moravian junior catcher Janae Matos hit safely in all eight games of her team’s 7-1 Florida trip, going 17-for-27 (.630) with five runs, seven doubles, a grand slam, 12 RBI and 48 putouts. … Coast Guard freshman third baseman Courtney McKenna hit .607 with four doubles, a triple, 11 runs and 14 RBI. … Susquehanna junior catcher Kelly Miller went 3-for-4 in the first two games of her team’s Florida trip, with two runs, a double, a grand slam, three walks and six RBI. … Berry senior left fielder Sarah Moore was 3-for-5 (.600) with a double, four runs and three RBI. … Meredith sophomore catcher Rachel Peel had a grand slam and hit .375 for the week with a double, triple and 11 RBI. … Whitworth senior pitcher/utility player Madi Perez hit .800 (8-for-10) with two doubles, a homer and four RBI, while also earning two wins and a save with 11 strikeouts over 15 innings. … Hendrix sophomore catcher Karli Sewell was 6-for-7 (.857) with a run, two doubles and six RBI. … Wilkes freshman pitcher Gracen Staunton was 4-0 with three shutouts, four complete games, 30 strikeouts and just two earned runs and three walks over 26.1 innings. … Central (Iowa) junior left fielder Tabitha Taylor hit .727 (8-for-11) with five runs, three doubles, three walks and two steals. … St. John Fisher junior pitcher Lindsey Thayer had a no-hitter stopped in the seventh inning of a 1-0 loss to nationally-ranked Coe and held then-No. 11 Worcester Polytechnic Institute scoreless twice with 19 strikeouts over 9.2 innings. For the week, she was 4-2 with a 0.19 ERA, 62 strikeouts, and just eight hits over 35.1 innings. … East Texas Baptist senior outfielder Lindsey Vasquez doubled in the winning run in a 3-2 eight-inning victory over then-No. 1 Texas-Tyler and hit .471 (8-for-17) for the week with three RBI. … Saint Mary’s (Ind.) junior outfielder Cassie Young was 6-for-8 (.750) with a double, homer, four runs and three RBI.
