WWE Injury Updates: Possible Dean Ambrose Return Plans, Aleister Black, Ricochet Hurt, Jordan Not Returning?
As noted, injured WWE star Dean Ambrose is slated to return to WWE any week now, and with WWE pushing the idea that Seth Rollins needs a tag team partner to help counter Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports it’s possible the angle is setting up Ambrose’s return alongside his former Shield partner.
In other injury news, The Observer is reporting Jason Jordan’s neck injury, following surgery, is worse than expected, so it appears as if Jordan will not be returning to the ring anytime soon.
With regards to Aleister Black, we reported yesterday, via PWInsider.com, that Black will be off NXT Takeover Brooklyn after suffering an injury at last week’s NXT live event and undergoing surgery as a result.
While it was announced during this week’s NXT episode that the main event of Takeover Brooklyn will be Black vs Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa, an injury angle was shot after the conclusion of the show. This was done as Black is indeed off the Takeover Brooklyn card, and while he is expected to recover from surgery in the coming weeks, he will not be cleared in time to return in New York City on August 18th.
Nia Jax is still rehabbing an undisclosed injury which is why she has been off WWE TV since her match at Extreme Rules.
Bobby Fish’s return to NXT appears to be around November or December of this year. Fish has been out of action since undergoing knee surgery.
Finally, Ricochet has been out of NXT action for the past six weeks as he is dealing with a lingering injury dating back to June of this year. The injury came back in June 11th when Ricochet missed an outside dive during a match in Paris, and WWE is keeping him out of the ring until Takeover Brooklyn so he has time to heal up for his big Title match against Adam Cole. Ricochet’s injury is said not to be serious.
